Your baby is about the size of a plum.

Your baby is about the size of a plum.

About 5.4 cm long. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.

What’s happening this week

Your baby's reflexes are developing, and they may curl their fingers or move if your tummy is pressed. The kidneys have started making urine. The intestines are settling into place inside the tummy.

Changes in your body

Your womb is rising above your pelvic bone, and your doctor may be able to feel it. The chance of miscarriage is much lower after this point. Many women feel relieved and a little more like themselves.

Keep one folder for your reports

Keep all your scans, blood reports and doctor's notes in one folder. It helps at every visit, and if you ever need to go to a different hospital.

Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
