Your baby is about the size of an apple.

About 10 cm long and 70 g. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.

What’s happening this week

Your baby's bones are getting harder and show up more clearly on a scan. The ears are moving into position, and your baby may start to sense sound. Your baby is practising breathing movements with the fluid around them.

Changes in your body

Your bump may be easier to see now. Some women get swollen gums that bleed when brushing, so keep brushing gently. Leg cramps at night may start around now.

Tell the dentist you're pregnant

Dental check-ups are fine during pregnancy. Just tell the dentist you're pregnant so they can plan any X-rays or medicines carefully.

Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
