20 weeks pregnant

Your baby is about the size of a banana.
About 25 cm long and 300 g. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.
What’s happening this week
You're halfway there. Your baby is swallowing more and making meconium, the first sticky poo that passes after birth. Movements are getting stronger and you may feel them more clearly.
Changes in your body
The top of your womb is now around the level of your belly button. Your bump is likely clear to others. Some women feel short of breath or get heartburn as the womb pushes up.
Small meals for heartburn
Smaller meals, not lying down soon after eating and going easy on spicy or oily food may help heartburn. Tell your doctor if it's bothering you a lot.
Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
