Your baby is about the size of a carrot.

Your baby is about the size of a carrot.

About 27 cm long and 360 g. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.

What’s happening this week

Your baby's movements are becoming more coordinated, and you may feel kicks and rolls. The digestive system is practising by swallowing fluid. Eyebrows and eyelids are fully formed.

Changes in your body

Swollen feet and ankles are common, especially at the end of the day or in the heat. Veins on your legs may become more visible. Sudden swelling of your face or hands is different, so call your doctor.

Put your feet up

Raising your feet when you sit, drinking enough water and not standing for too long may help swollen ankles. Loose cotton clothes help in the heat.

Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
