Your baby is about the size of a small papaya.

About 28 cm long and 430 g. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.

What’s happening this week

Your baby's sense of touch is developing, and they may grab the umbilical cord or touch their face. The eyes are formed, and the lips are more defined. Your baby is getting stronger every week.

Changes in your body

Your belly button may start to pop out. Backache is common as your posture changes. Some women feel Braxton Hicks, a painless tightening of the tummy that comes and goes.

Look after your back

Sit with support behind your lower back, bend your knees when you pick things up and wear flat, comfortable chappals. Gentle stretches may help.

Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
