Your baby is about the size of a cucumber.

About 35 cm long and 760 g. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.

What’s happening this week

Your baby's eyes are starting to open. The lungs keep growing, and your baby practises breathing by moving fluid in and out. Brain activity is increasing.

Changes in your body

Sleep may get harder as your bump grows. You may get leg cramps or restless legs at night, and stretching your calves before bed may help. If your baby moves less than usual, call your doctor or hospital now, don't wait.

Ask about vaccines

Ask your doctor which vaccines you need during pregnancy and when to have them. Keep a record of each one in your reports folder.

Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
