28 weeks pregnant

Your baby is about the size of a brinjal.
About 37 cm long and 1 kg. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.
What’s happening this week
Welcome to the third trimester. Your baby can blink, and the eyes can sense light coming through your tummy. The lungs and brain keep maturing, and your baby is laying down more fat.
Changes in your body
Visits to your doctor may become more frequent from now. If your blood group is Rh negative, your doctor will talk to you about what you need. You may feel more tired and uncomfortable again.
Keep paying attention to kicks
If your baby moves less than usual, call your doctor or hospital now, don't wait. Don't wait until the next day or rely on a home heartbeat monitor.
Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
