37 weeks pregnant

Your baby is about the size of an ash gourd.
About 49 cm long and 2.9 kg. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.
What’s happening this week
Your baby is now early term. The lungs and brain are still maturing, and every extra day adds strength. Your baby is practising sucking, breathing and gripping.
Changes in your body
You may feel tired, heavy and ready. Braxton Hicks may feel stronger. A little pink-streaked mucus can be an early sign your body is getting ready, though labour may still be days or weeks away.
Rest while you can
Short naps, light meals and gentle walks may help you feel ready. Keep noticing your baby's movements every day.
Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
