41 weeks pregnant

Your baby is about the size of a big watermelon.
About 51 cm long and 3.5 kg. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.
What’s happening this week
Many babies arrive after the due date, and your baby is still getting ready. Your baby's nails may be longer and the skin a little drier at birth. Your doctor will keep an eye on how your baby is doing.
Changes in your body
It's very common to still be waiting this week. Your doctor will want to check on you and the baby and talk about next steps, like extra monitoring or induction. Keep feeling for movements and call the hospital if anything feels different.
Talk about next steps
Ask your doctor what checks they'd like to do and when, and what induction would involve. It's fine to keep asking until you feel clear.
Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
