9 weeks pregnant

Your baby is about the size of a cherry.
About 2.3 cm long. Typical sizes; every baby grows at their own pace.
What’s happening this week
Your baby now looks more like a tiny person, with eyelids, ears and a nose taking shape. The heart has formed its four chambers. Little muscles are developing, so the small movements continue.
Changes in your body
Hormones may make you feel weepy one moment and fine the next. Heartburn, constipation and bloating are common. Water and fibre from fruit, sabzi and whole grains may help with constipation.
Share the news when you're ready
Many families have strong views on when to tell people. It's your choice. Share the news with the people you trust when it feels right to you.
Bleeding, fluid leaking, fewer baby movements, a bad headache, blurred vision or sudden swelling: call your doctor or hospital now. In an emergency, call 112.
